Andrea Palladio lined the city of Vicenza with his impressive architectural structures based on classical Roman and Greek designs. Unfortunately, Palladio did not build any cheap hostels, and the Ostello Olimpico is the only hostel in the city limits as of 2009. Vicenza has several lodging choices for tourists and backpackers, provided they are willing to spend a few more Euros.

Ostello Olimpico

The Ostello Olimpico offers both dorm and private room lodging at reasonable rates, and is located in the heart of downtown Vicenza. A single bed in a six-bed dorm costs 19 Euros per night, or just under $30. Dorms and restroom facilities are shared with other travelers. Private rooms have four beds and cost 78 Euros, or around $115 for the entire room. Prices are accurate as of 2009. The stay includes breakfast and Internet access for a fee. Lockers and luggage rooms are available for safekeeping valuables. The hostel is wheelchair-accessible with an elevator and nearby parking. Payment by Visa, MasterCard or the Maestro credit card is accepted. Bicycle rental is available.
Drive or walk to the Ostello Olimpico located at 9 Viale Antonio Giuriolo on your way to Palazzo Chiericati and the Olympic Theater, called the Teatro Olimpico. You may also ride the bus from the railway station to Viale Giuriolo.
