Agua Tierra Trail

Translated as the water-earth trail, the Agua Tierra Trail running through the Glan Canyon National Park is a 0.6-mile trail of desert landscape, cultivated gardens and many examples of erosion and land formations made over time. There are 11 different markers along the hike to point out specific areas of interest. The trail is an easy hike that will take you about 45 minutes to an hour; be sure to bring water and sun protection. There are guidebooks available about the trail at the visitors center that will explain the history of the trail and the "leave no trace" policy of the park. Your hike will begin at the Wild Rose building in the park near the Lake Powell Resort Lodge.

Camping in Orange Cliffs

Enjoy the scenic wonders of the Orange Cliffs in the Glen Canyon National Park. As one of the most picturesque locations in the park, the Orange Cliffs are among the most arid parts of desert. Backpacking and camping is allowed in the area with a "leave no trace" policy, and vehicle campers are allowed into the campground with restrictions. The Orange Cliffs section of the park is a great location for those who enjoy nature and sightseeing at its best. For your protection, it is recommended that you bring plenty of fresh drinking water. Always hike with a friend, staying on all marked trails and roadways during your travels.
