Owners of houseboats have options for self-guided vacations and tours of Lake Champlain. Several public boat launches along the lake are equipped to handle houseboat launches. Rutland, Addison, Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle Counties, in Vermont, have public boat launches. Rutland County has one boat launch and is for smaller boats, houseboat or otherwise. Contact the Lake Champlain Recreation and Public Access Committee for information on precise boat size rules for boat launches. Navigational charts for Lake Champlain are available at marinas and boating stores in Burlington.
