Sugarcreek is a small village in northeast Ohio. At the time of its founding in 1814, it was named Shanesville. Founded at the intersection of two Indian trails, the area today known as Sugarcreek attracted mostly people of German and Swiss ancestry. Sugarcreek, known as "The Little Switzerland of Ohio," is located within Ohio's Amish country. Visitors to Sugarcreek can experience Amish country by exploring the nearby rolling hills of Tuscarawas County. The village has outdoor celebrations scheduled throughout the year, as well. Several hotels are available for visitors to the area.

Carlisle Inn
