Children will find many fun things to do in Duluth, Georgia. No matter what time of year, this city provides both indoor and outdoor activities that will suit any child. There are a number of parks that provide playgrounds and trails to explore. Several museums allow children to explore history and art in hands-on interactive ways.

Children's Art Museum

Children of every age can enjoy this interactive arts museum, which is part of the Hudgens Center for the Arts. It features a puppet theater, kaleidoscope and kiosks that showcase different art disciplines. Kids can learn about visual arts, literary arts, drama, music and dance here. In the summer, two-week camps are offered to teach painting, mixed media, ceramics and drama. Throughout the year, children can participate in classes that teach painting, drawing, cartooning, pottery and more.

Southeastern Railway Museum

For over forty years, this museum has featured over ninety items from train history. It features both historic Pullman cars and classic steam locomotives. Children can see history up close through these antiques and exhibits. Visitors can ride in restored cabooses, see the train used by former President Harding, and tour the train that brought the Olympics to Atlanta. It is opened year-round, though only on Saturdays in the Winter.

Bunten Road Park

This is a forty-five acre park that includes a range of recreational activities. There are walking trails, playgrounds, and sport fields. There are paved and unpaved trails, which are perfect for walking or biking. This park features baseball fields, soccer fields and tennis courts. There is also a community center within the park that offers an indoor gym. Different events are offered here for children.

Rogers Bridge Park

This thirteen acre park is in the northeast part of Duluth. Several bike trails are connected to this park, such as the Western Gwinnett Bikeway and Rogers Bridge Trail. Children will enjoy the wide open spaces, playground and volleyball court. Located along the Chattahoochee River, it also has a boat ramp. The Picnic Pavilion provide tables and grills, allowing families to enjoy a meal together outdoors.
