The city of Bradenton is located between Sarasota and Tampa. It is the largest in its metropolitan statistical area, with more than 680,000 people estimated to be living there as of 2007. Bradenton is surrounded by waterways and is nestled in more than 20 miles of beaches along the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay. The city's location and climate makes it popular with tourists, and there are two waterfront hotels for visitors to enjoy. Shorewalk, which is also located near the beaches, has its own stocked lakes within its 30 acres of land. The units, most of which have waterfront views, are self-catering condos and typically have a living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen and a screened lanai. Other Shorewalk amenities include hot tubs, two heated pools, tennis courts and a children's playground. Rates vary, depending on the villa and the season.
