Dwarika's Hotel

The Dwarika's Hotel, in a country which has two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, is itself the winner of two Heritage Awards. The hotel is a handmade terracotta and carved wood tribute to Nepal's history and arts---the buildings are a beautifully preserved century-old museum with 16th-century windows, private courtyards, hand-painted textiles and Buddhist symbols and art. The hotel has four restaurants, including one with a 22-course tasting menu, two lounges; a swimming pool designed after 12th-century royal pools and a menu of massages. There is a business center with broadband Internet access and a library of Nepali cultural and travel books.
