Pliers and Forceps
Calcutta manufactures a variety or pliers for freshwater and saltwater use. The pliers range from the stainless steel series to the corrosion resistant and chrome series. Calcutta pliers feature plastic grips with the exception of the aluminum series, with no overgrip, and the chrome series with an epoxy cord wrap. Options available with some Calcutta pliers include replaceable jaws, nylon sheaths and ergonomically designed handles.
Forceps are a valuable tool for many anglers especially those who pursue trout. A well-made pair of forceps can crimp shot as well as remove small delicate flies from a hooked trout. Calcutta's forceps are available in 5 1/2-inch to 9-inch lengths and feature comfortable overmolded handles.
Wire Cutters
A pair of wire cutters is included in the tackle box of many freshwater and saltwater anglers for cutting steel leaders or removing the barb and point of a hook to free a hooked fish, Calcutta manufactures several different cutters to help suit most any need. The Stainless Steel, CR and Chrome series provide a selection of wire cutters from which an angler may choose. A variety of lengths are also provided ranging from 5 inches to upwards of 10 inches for large cutting jobs.
Knives
Calcutta knives are offered in essentially four categories including; a Kershaw fillet, heavy duty, folding fillet and tackle box. The Kershaw fillet is manufactured by the Kershaw knife company for Calcutta and features many of the well-known and respected Kershaw designs and quality. The Heavy Duty series knives are designed to help an angler process the days catch. Featuring German stainless steel blades and Santoprene handles, these knives are simple in design and built with materials intended to help them last.
The folding fillet knife features a positive locking mechanism and 5 1/2-inch fillet blade. The compact design of the Calcutta folding fillet allows an angler to carry a quality fillet knife in a fraction of the space required by a full-length fillet knife.
The tackle box knife is a sliding blade designed with the blade stored in the handle until needed. Features of the knife also include a built-in hook sharpener and a line-cutting feature utilizing a notch in the case and the internal knife's edge.
