Vermilion is a small coastal town on Lake Erie and is alongside the Vermilion River. The town dates from the early 1800s and has always been a port town. Fishing is a major activity in the area. The town has a historic district with many old homes formerly owned by captains of merchant ships.
To fish here, you must have a fishing license if you are between the ages of 15 and 65. Out-of-state anglers may purchase a one-day license.

Lucky Duck Fishing Charters

The Lucky Duck is a 30-foot sport craft operated out of Vermilion by a private operator. The owner is also the guide, and he has been taking people fishing since 1986. The owner has lived on the lake all his life and is on the lake every day, so he has a good feel for how the fish are biting.
Tours run April through November, and you may get a half-day or a full-day trip. In the early spring, the tour operates out of Port Clinton, but from May through November, Vermilion is the home port.
Fish on Lake Erie for walleye, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and steelhead.
Fishing tackle is provided, but you may use your own. Fish cleaning is available, and meals are, too.

The main boat is the Bad Boy, but this company can also handle large groups and provide multiple boats for a fishing trip. Walleye and perch are the main fish that these charters go after.
Bad Boy has full-day trips only and often walk-in tours are available, but reservations are always recommended. The fishing guide can also accommodate people with special needs. The tours include food and drink, as well as fish processing.
