Resorts in Montana

Montana is the fourth-largest state in the United States and is home to recreational areas such as the Rocky Mountains and Glacier National Park. These areas offer camping facilities and hiking trails. Montana also has three of the five entrances for Yellowstone National Park. There are resorts throughout the state where you can stay while visiting Big Sky Country.

Big Sky Resort

Big Sky Resort is located in Big Sky, approximately two hours northwest of Yellowstone National Park. This resort features amenities such as slopes and facilities for skiing and snowmobile riding during the winter, as well as hiking trails and an 18-hole golf course that can be used in the summer months. Big Sky Resort also has on-site restaurants, such as Peaks and Andiamo Italian Grille, that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The resort has a variety of lodging accommodations to choose from, including hotels, cabins and condominiums. Big Sky is less than 10 minutes driving distance from Ousel Falls, which features a one-mile hiking trail that goes by scenic waterfalls.

The Resort at Paws Up

The Resort at Paws Up is located in Greenough, approximately an hour east of Missoula, and includes amenities such as Spa Town, which offers massage therapy, camping facilities and an on-site fine dining restaurant, Pomp. There are also on-site hiking and horseback riding trails, as well as paths for cycling and ATV tours. The guest cabins at Paws Up feature a private porch with a whirlpool tub, fully furnished kitchen and 42-inch flat-screen television. Paws Up is approximately 30 minutes from Blackfoot River, which offers opportunities for fishing and boating excursions.

Grouse Mountain Lodge

Grouse Mountain Lodge rests on the shores of Whitefish Lake, a 3,300-acre body of water that offers opportunities for fishing and boating excursions. Amenities at Grouse Mountain Lodge include an indoor swimming pool, fitness center and an outdoor spa that provides massage therapy. There is also an on-site restaurant, The Grill, that serves lunch and dinner. The restaurant features a fireplace and outdoor patio seating. Each of the guest rooms at Grouse Mountain Lodge features king-sized or queen-sized beds, as well as cable television. Some of the rooms at Grouse Mountain Lodge have a separate living area. The resort is less than 15 minutes driving distance from the Glacier Nordic Center, which offers facilities for fishing and boating.
