Perry, Iowa, is a part of the Des Moines metropolitan area and is known for the Raccoon River Valley Trail, a part of the Wabash Railroad that is being developed as a recreational trail by the Conservation Boards of Dallas and Guthrie counties of Iowa. The Hotel Pattee is home to David's Milwaukee Diner, serving classic American dishes in a setting designed like a railway dining car. The menu includes the Cowboy Cut ribeye, a 16-ounce steak with garlic mash potatoes; Iowa chop, a bone-in pork chop in a wine sauce, and a bacon-wrapped meatloaf topped with an apricot glaze. Prices, as of March, 2010, are moderate to expensive with entrees ranging from $12-$30.

Breadeaux Pizza is a chain restaurant that was established in Iowa. With a name like Breadeaux, you would expect that the dough is a priority, and the restaurant stresses their skill at making a chewy, sweet crust that's similar to French bread. For those who prefer a crispier crust, try the quesadilla pizza with cheese, tomatoes, jalapeno, onions and perhaps bacon and chicken. Breadeaux also serves basic pastas and lasagna.

Perry Tea Room

Perry Tea Room is part restaurant and part theme store that sells candles, bath salts, body lotions and home decorations. The tea room is like a small version of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." The restaurant offers a small, simple menu, serving various quiches and a sweet potato pork pie mixed with marshmallows. Perry also has a large selection of homemade desserts. As of March 2010, all entrees are $9.95 and include a choice of soup or salad. All desserts are $4.95.
