Brandon is an ideal base for exploring the pristine reserves of Little Manatee River and Oscar Schere state parks or canoeing in the Hillsborough River. After a full day of enjoying the state parks or biking the Suncoast Trail, head over the Crosstown Expressway to neighboring Tampa for your kimchi fix.

Soul of Korea

Soul of Korea, located closest to Brandon, offers classic, home-cooked Korean cuisine. The menu features dishes like fried home-made kimchi dumplings, seafood pancakes, spicy pot stews, and fried rice dishes. Diners will also find plenty of Korean BBQ items, from ribs to marinated beef, pork and chicken. Soul of Korea supplements its Korean menu with Chinese- and Japanese-inspired dishes like teriyaki stir fried beef and sweet and sour pork. It even has some Southern favorites like BBQ wings and, fittingly, "soul food."

Sa Ri One Korean Restaurant

Just a hop away from Brandon on the edge of Tampa's Westshore business district, Sa Ri is a traditional Korean restaurant and BBQ. Menu items include all the Korean favorites, from kimchi and casseroles to beef stews and bulgoki chicken. Be sure to sample from a few of the appetizers that are served including the Korean version of chips and salsa, a dozen small bowls containing treats like fish cakes, dark seaweed and peppered cabbage which are served before your entree arrives. Sa Ri One is set in a renovated house that is unassuming from the outside. Inside, however, the restaurant is warm and cozy, with multiple rooms, elegant wooden booths and table buzzers to call servers to the table.

Rice Restaurant & Lounge

Rice Restaurant & Lounge features tableside built-in barbecue grills that offer diners a chance to watch their meals being prepared or even grill the food themselves. The restaurant features a wide menu of classic Korean meals, from salty-sweet miso, to hot, meaty kalbi, to cow foot broth soup. New owner Mama Kay, a well-known entrepreneur in the Tampa Bay Korean community, has spruced the place up since taking over the former buffet restaurant. Guests will enjoy added amenities like satellite TVs, free Wi-Fi, a full bar, karaoke and a dance floor. Doubling as a lounge and club, this place can provide your Korean fix well into the night, making it great for an after-party destination.
