Marinette, Wisconsin, is situated where the mouth of the Menominee River opens to Green Bay, and the town's waterfront location provides opportunities for fishing and boating. Marinette is within 30 minutes of the A Tale of Fire and Water, a 70-mile parkway that runs through Marinette County. Recreational sites located on the parkway offer opportunities for camping and hiking.

The Road Motel is a riverfront lodging accommodation in the northwestern section of Marinette, less than five minutes from the fishing at Wright Slough. Best Western Riverfront Inn rests on the banks of the Menominee River, less than a mile from Interstate Bridge, which crosses over the river into Michigan. Hotel amenities include a heated indoor swimming pool and whirlpool tub, guest laundry and an on-site restaurant, Avenue Bar & Grill, that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The 120 guest rooms at the Best Western include cable television and high-speed Internet access. Best Western is less than 20 minutes from the 25-mile Crivitz Cruise cycling trail, which runs through the forested Beaver Creek. This state park offers facilities for camping, as well as opportunities for bird watching and hunting. Comfort Inn is located right off of U.S. Highway 41 and provides its guests with amenities such as an exercise center, complimentary continental breakfast and a business center with fax services. The hotel also offers afternoon tea to its guests. All of the 48 guest rooms at Comfort Inn have cable television as well as a microwave and refrigerator. The suites at this hotel have a king-size beds and whirlpool tubs. The Comfort Inn is less than five miles from Marinette Park, an urban recreational area that offers paths for jogging and walking, as well as camping and picnic facilities. The hotel is also less than 25 minutes north of the Three Rivers Classic, a 70-mile cycling trail that runs alongside the shores of Green Bay.
