Portland is the largest city in Oregon and rests on the banks of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. The "Rose City" offers chances for outdoor activities at Washington Park. This recreational area provides paths for jogging and picnic facilities. Portland also lies within close proximity of Mount Hood National Forest, which has camping facilities. There are hotels in Portland that have convention facilities, in case you are in the city for business and recreation.

Red Lion Hotel Portland -- Convention Center rests on Grand Avenue, less than five minutes' walking distance from the Oregon Convention Center. The convention center that is located within the Red Lion Hotel consists of more than 4,000 square feet of flexible space, and there is also a Window's Skyroom, which can accommodate up to 400 people; both of these spaces can be used for conferences and banquets. Amenities at the hotel include a guest laundromat, exercise room and an on-site restaurant---Cafe 10-2-1, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The guest rooms at Red Lion feature a king-size or queen-size bed and cable television. Pets are allowed to stay for a nominal fee. Red Lion provides its guests with access to the four-mile walking path that connects the Oregon Convention Center to the Lloyd Center mall. The hotel is also only several minutes from the Lewis & Clark Trail, a 97-mile cycling path that runs from Portland to Astoria, Oregon.

Holiday Inn lies on Portland's Columbia Boulevard and is within five minutes' driving distance from Portland International Airport. The hotel is less than 20 minutes driving distance from the Eastbank Esplanade on the Willamette River. This park features the three-mile Tom McCall Loop walking path, as well as fishing and bird watching opportunities. Holiday Inn is also near the 48-mile Carson Hot Springs cycling trail that runs beside the Columbia River from Portland to Carson Hot Springs.
