Korean Restaurants in Kansas City

Kansas City is well-known for its contributions to the musical styles of jazz and blues as well as to cuisine---particularly the Kansas City-style barbecue. The city's barbeque preferences extend further to the Korean restaurants serving Korean-style barbeque and other traditional food options. Interestingly, these restaurants offer good selections of Korean fare without being overwhelming to the non-Koreans' tastes.

Chosun Korean BBQ

Chosun Korean BBQ features traditional favorites all cooked Korean-style. There is an individual grill in the middle of each dining table which provides guests with complete access to what is freshly served and cooked right in front of them. The wide variety of lunch and dinner entrees includes combo plates for groups, which are ideal in sharing a variety of Korean dishes. There are also individual plates in impressively large servings. The homemade barbecue sauce with the owners' own blend of Korean herbs and spices complement a variety of meat dishes available to be grilled on the table. There are many side dishes to enjoy as well. Some of the popular ones are the bibimbap (mixed rice and vegetables with spicy red paste), pork ribs, beef ribs, naengmyun (cold noodles) and bulgogi (tender beef strips).

Sobahn Korean Restaurant

Sobahn Korean Restaurant is best known for its welcoming atmosphere, keen attention to customer service, and of course, the good food. The owners brought back unique tables, chairs, dishes and other supplies directly from China and Korea which makes the restaurant's setting very traditional, elegant and rustic. And although prices are a bit higher here compared to other Korean restaurants in the area, dining in Sobahn leaves guests well content in its upscale ambience and sophisticated dishes.

The food here is described as traditional Korean with fusion flare. It offers a delicate balance of flavors complete with stunningly beautiful presentations. Some of the signature dishes include the galbi steak (beef ribs) and dolsot bibimbap (mixed rice and vegetables with spicy red paste--cooked in a dolsot pot).

Choga Korean Restaurant provides authentic Korean dishes in affordable prices. Its environment exudes a typical Korean joint with a no frills interior. It puts the quality and quantity of the food on the spotlight.

From the side dishes to the main courses, the servings in Choga are very large. Guests are encouraged to grill the meat on the table by themselves to get the feel of that authentic Korean-style dining. The Korean barbeque here is one of the best-sellers. There is a good selection of traditional side dishes including tasty options of kimchi, potato salad and small fishes. There are lunch box specials and combo meals that can come along with your preferred side dishes and entrees.
