The Indian city of Chennai is located along the scenic Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal and serves as the state capital of Tamil Nadu. Established by the British in the mid-17th century, the city has since thrived in the technology, health care, military and tourism industries. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy several parks and beaches for recreation, although it is advisable to visit in the early spring or late fall, as summers are often much too hot to be outside. The city is also home to the well-appointed Quality Inn MGM Beach Resort, which provides a paradise vacation for discerning travelers of all kinds.
