Skiing and Snowboarding
Located in the Targhee National Forest only 23 miles from Rexburg, Kelly Canyon Ski Resort has 26 ski trails and over 640 acres of available skiing area. This resort offers a wide range of challenging downhill trails and wide runs---the longest is 6,900 feet. All major runs are well lighted for night skiing. There are three rated ski trails from easiest to most difficult, and certified instructors can give individual or group skiing lessons as needed. The Kelly Canyon Nordic area also includes 24 miles of cross-country ski trails and a variety of back-country skiing options. Skis, snowboards, helmets and other gear can be rented on-site.

Snowmobiling
Rexburg, and the surrounding area of Madison, Jefferson and Teton counties, features over 280 miles of groomed trails and thousands of acres of off-trail riding area for snowmobiling. Riders have the option of sledding on established trails between the Rexburg, Driggs and Tetonia, or riding in more isolated locales. Guided tours of Yellowstone Park and other areas as well as snowmobile rentals are also available in nearby Driggs.

Winter Festivals
The City of Rexburg Snowfest is an annual event held at Smith Park offering many winter activities for adults and children to enjoy. Grownups can participate in sledding and downhill races, ski and snowboard rail jam or even take a frosty dip in ice-cold water during the Polar Bear Swim. Kids will enjoy the Snow Bank Treasure Hunt, decorating snowmen and indulging in snow graffiti. Most events are held outside during the festival and are free of charge.
