As its name implies, this particular DoubleTree Hotel sits just across the street from the main entrance to Universal Orlando. The DoubleTree offers a variety of room options within a fairly broad price range. However, the cheaper rooms are just over $100 per night during peak season (as of March 2010).

Also located just across the street from Universal's main entrance, this Days Inn's guest rooms are nearly all priced under $50 per night, including tax, during peak season (as of March 2010). However, there are a couple of large suites in the hotel that are much more expensive.
All rooms feature expanded cable TV, high-speed Internet access, air conditioning and refrigerators. The hotel itself boasts an on-site restaurant, outdoor pool, poolside bar and meeting/banquet space. Pets less than 25 pounds are allowed for a small daily fee.

Blue Palm Hotel
Just a mile away from the front gates of Universal Orlando, and even closer to Universal's Wet 'n Wild water park, the Blue Palm has 192 guest rooms, many around $50 per night during peak season (as of March 2010).
Each room comes with a mini-fridge, microwave and cable TV. The hotel has a laundry room, outdoor pool and pool bar/lounge. Also, free continental breakfast is provided, and pets less than 25 pounds are allowed for a small daily fee.
