Located approximately 10 miles from the trail systems at Mesa Verde National Park, Cortez, Colorado, is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors also can explore the Canyon of the Ancients National Monument , which is 26 miles to the west of the city in Lakewood. The park around the monument allows hunting, hiking and four-wheeling in certain areas. The renowned 18-hole, 72-par Conquistador Golf Course is located in Cortez.

Willowtail Springs Log Cabins

Willowtail Springs log cabins have decks that look out over a private lake into the La Plata Mountains. The cabins are located in Mancos, approximately 17 miles from Cortez. Three separate log cabins are available, each equipped with a television and a sound system. Cabins also have full kitchens, fireplaces and a shelf of books. Wireless Internet is available in the Willowtail Springs main office. Willowtail's private lake is stocked with largemouth bass for catch-and-release fishing. A complimentary continental breakfast, including locally baked breads, homemade jam and eggs, is provided in your cabin on the first morning of your stay. All cabins have full bathrooms with showers. The Trail of Ancients and the Canyon of the Ancients are approximately 10 miles from the cabins.

Priest Gulch Log Cabins

Enjoy the view of the Dolores River when you stay in a log cabin at Priest Gulch. The cabins are located in Dolores, less than 12 miles from Cortez. Cabins offer amenities such as bed linens and bath towels. A microwave, a coffee maker and a television are also in all cabins. All cabins except for the Section House have a full kitchen, a full bathroom and a separate living room. Three of the cabins can accommodate up to six people, and six of the cabins can accommodate up to four people. The Section House can accommodate up to three people. Pets are allowed in some cabins for an extra fee. Priest Gulch has wireless Internet access throughout the campground and a small on-site store with fishing supplies. Just 10 minutes away is golf at Conquistador Golf Course and hiking at the Mesa Verde National Park.

Outpost Cabins

Enjoy log furnishings in a location along the Dolores River when you stay at Outpost Cabins. The log cabins are situated in Dolores, approximately 12 miles from the attractions of Cortez. All cabins are fully furnished and have full kitchens. Cabins also have full bathrooms and a sofa. Accommodations are available for up to eight people in Cabin B. Cabin A can accommodate up to six people, and Cabin C can accommodate up to four people. Decks overlook the Dolores River, where you'll find fishing, kayaking and swimming opportunities. Outpost is approximately 15 miles from hiking and biking at Mesa Verde National Park and from historic sites such as Hovenweep National Monument.
