Gene's Haufbrau, the oldest bar in Charleston, is situated on the the Savannah Highway, less than five miles from the West Ashley Greenway cycling trail, which runs parallel to the Savannah Highway. Founded in 1952, this bar-style restaurant has an upbeat atmosphere and features a full-service bar with a television for patrons so they can watch ballgames. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. The menu includes wiener schnitzel and pork loin with cabbage. There are also German imported beers at its bar, such as Spaten, Maisel's Weiss and Weihenstephaner. The restaurant hosts special events, such as Oktoberfest.

Rococo German Bakery

Rococo German Bakery is located on Charleston's section of U.S. Highway 17, approximately 15 minutes from Magnolia Gardens, which has a four-mile hiking trail. This bakery is the closest German eatery to Summerville, less than 25 minutes driving distance, creating specialty cakes for birthdays and weddings. Rococo is open on Mondays through Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is closed on Sundays. The menu features everyday cakes, such as chocolate ganache and German chocolate, as well as specialty cakes that include any design that the patron desires to have on the cake. Rococo sets up a booth and sells their cakes at Summerville's Flowertown Festival.

Horst Gasthaus is situated on North Myrtle Beach's 37th Avenue, less than a 10 miles from swimming and fishing activities at Sunset Beach. Established in 1984, this casual dining establishment has German-themed memorabilia and artwork throughout the restaurant, as well as a full service bar with seating. Horst Gasthaus serves dinner on Mondays through Saturdays. The restaurant is closed on Sundays. The menu offers German specialties, such as Bavarian goulash with noodles and kassler rippchen, which is a smoked pork.
