Chevy Chase, Maryland is an affluent suburb about 20 minutes north of central Washington, DC and borders the northern tip of Rock Creek Park. The park, which primarily sits in the District of Columbia and leads into central Washington, provides some traffic-free hiking and biking paths in this otherwise highly-congested area. Both paved and unpaved trails, plus various ball fields, picnic areas, a nature center and other outdoor-related venues can be found in Rock Creek, one of the country's largest urban parks, according to the National Park Service.

Guests can store their bikes at the on-site racks and the hotel provides preferred parking for hybrid vehicles. The in-house café, The Bistro, serves health-conscious breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Pets are not allowed.

Embassy Suites at Chevy Chase Pavilion

This Embassy Suites is located in DC's Friendship Heights District immediately on the Metro Red Line and is within walking distance of the Chevy Chase shopping district. The hotel underwent a $5.5 million renovation in 2009. All suites feature a living space and bedroom that include a 37-inch and a 32-inch flat-screen HD television. Desk and dining area, queen-sized sofa bed, refrigerator and microwave are also standard amenities. Wired and wireless high-speed Internet is available for a fee. Spa O offers massage, beauty and other wellness treatments on-site. The hotel's Pavilion Health and Swim Club on the penthouse level features an indoor pool, whirlpool, saunas and a stocked fitness center. Cooked-to-order complimentary breakfasts and evening beverages plus appetizers are provided by Café Cino.

This Residence Inn is located near Chevy Chase, in neighboring Bethesda, and is only one block from a Metro Rail station. Accommodations include one and two bedroom suites, including allergy friendly rooms. Amenities include two televisions, sofa, kitchen and wired Internet (wireless is available for a fee). Guests can make use of the seasonal, rooftop pool, fitness facility and sauna. Biking and jogging trails are nearby, as are tennis and squash courts.
