This hotel has been catering to affluent travelers for nearly 100 years and is a member of Leading Hotels of the World. Featuring one of the largest hotel swimming pools in the United States, the Biltmore also has a golf course, four restaurants, health spa, meeting rooms, grand ballroom and theater on the premises. Rooms start at $200 a night for a room with a king-size bed and small sitting area and range to $2,000 for a deluxe suite.

Activities for children include a Saturday morning cooking class, yoga, mini-manicure and pedicure, and golf and tennis lessons. Nannies are available. The hotel is centrally located near Miami Beach and Coral Gables.

The Ritz-Carlton of South Beach offers the quiet sophistication of a renovated landmark hotel with the convenience of nearby beaches, high-end retail shopping, numerous fine restaurants and a 16,000-square-foot spa. Each of the 375 rooms measures 400 to 450 square feet and comes with a large work desk, AM/FM clock radio with iPod docking station, laptop-compatible safe, computer and fax hook-ups, multiline telephone, marble bath, goose down or hypo-allergenic pillows, cotton linens and fully stocked mini-bar. Many rooms offer Atlantic Ocean views, and there is a large deck with a pool overlooking the ocean.

The Ritz Kids Program provides supervised outdoor entertainment for 5- to 12- year-olds during business hours. For $85 a day or $50 a half-day, certified on-site child care professionals will provide games, arts and crafts, treasure hunts, jewelry making, storytelling and beach activities for your child while you work or explore South Miami.

Dine and relax at the hotel bistro, lounge, bar or beach club. Host a meeting, wedding or corporate event in the 10,000-square-foot ballroom with 10 adjoining meeting rooms. Single, city-view rooms start $579 a night and prices range up to $1,350 for an oceanfront one-bedroom suite.

This hotel defines luxury, from the 90-foot bar that runs the length of the outdoor pool, to the black granite, silk fabrics and understated Art Deco decor and private spas in every room. Snuggle up under your European-style feather comforter, and watch your large, flat-screen TV, or cruise the net with high-speed access. One- to three- bedroom suites are available, some with rooftop decks and Miami skyline or ocean views. Rooms range from $645 to $9,000 a night and are equipped with CD/DVD players, rainfall showers, hot tubs and espresso makers. The on-site restaurant serves a mix of Chinese, Indian and Thai cuisines. The hotel also offers a spa and personal massage treatments. The hotel is a non-smoking facility.
