Pipestone OHV Area
The Pipestone OHV Area is located near the city of Butte, south of Basin. This trail is open the entire year, and there are over 75 miles of trails to explore. There are multiple staging areas around Butte where you can jump on the trail, and it is completely free of charge. The trail itself can range from relatively mild to fairly challenging, and is also known by the alternative names of Four Corners, Whiskey Gulch, and Delome Lake Road.

Clancy OHV Area
The Clancy OHV Area is located after the unincorporated village of Clancy, which is approximately 10 miles north of Basin. This is a large BLM area, meaning there are many open areas where ATV free riding is allowed. In addition, there are 10 miles of trails to explore in heavily wooded area. While most of the trail is amateur level, there are some challenging sections and potential hazards, so you will want to keep an open eye out while traversing the Clancy OHV area trails.

Scratchgravel Hills
Scratchgravel Hills are also located close to Helena, roughly 20 to 30 minutes north of Basin. This is a smaller ATV area that has several trails running through these hills. Other names for this ATV trail area include Scratchgravel Loop, Birdseye Road, and Echo Drive. The scenery varies between thin forest and high desert, and this particular ATV area is designed for beginning and amateur drivers who like to enjoy the natural scenery of an area while out and about.
