Hotels in Downtown Houston With Hot Tubs in the Room

With 2.1 million residents, according to the city's website, Houston is the fourth largest city in the U.S. and features 11,000 restaurants and 40 colleges and universities. Outdoor enthusiasts visiting Houston will find over 100 miles of hiking and biking trails winding through 56,405 acres of park land, according to Houston's visitors' bureau. After a day spent on the trails, relax in one of the city's hotel rooms with a private hot tub.

Located less than a mile from Reliant Stadium in southwest Houston, Comfort Suites features guest rooms and suites with optional hot tubs and up to two bedrooms. Traditional guest rooms feature a queen bed and cable television with HBO, while suites feature one king or two queen beds, a microwave, a refrigerator and a sofa bed. Hot tub suites have partially divided sleeping and living areas and a king bed and nightly rates started at $149 in 2010.

Start the day at a complimentary breakfast bar or an exercise session at the on-site fitness center. An outdoor pool and common area whirlpool are also available to guests and a business center provides computer and fax services. Nearby activities include Houston Zoo, Hermann Park, Reliant Park and the Museum of National Science. Dining options within a five-block radius of Comfort Suites include seafood, Mexican and Italian fare and adjacent highways allow convenient access to other areas of Houston. Comfort Suites is located near Interstate 610 at the intersection of Old Spanish Trail and McNee Road.

Hotel ICON features 135 upscale rooms and suites on 12 stories and bills itself as "a grand European boutique hotel," according to its website. Guest rooms feature a seating area with fully stocked refreshment center, room service, a safe sized for laptops, a workspace with wireless Internet access, cable television and turndown service each night. Choose one of the hotel's rooms with a Jacuzzi tub and add ICON's Bath Butler service: a bath expert prepares a hot bubble bath at a time chosen by the guest. Nightly rates started at $179 in 2010 for a Jacuzzi suite.

Other rooms feature antique claw-footed tubs or oversized garden tubs and bathrobes are provided as a standard amenity. Dine on-site at the Voice restaurant, exercise at the hotel's 24-hour fitness center and walk to theaters, sports facilities and art galleries while staying at the Hotel ICON.

At the Crowne Plaza Downtown, reserve a Deluxe Guest Room and luxuriate in an oversized garden tub, which is similar to a hot tub but without jets. Other comfort amenities include upgraded mattresses, a chaise lounge, a bathrobe and individual climate control. Advance nightly rates for a Deluxe Guest Room start at $180 in 2010.

The Crowne Plaza features a restaurant and lounge with happy hour specials, an outdoor pool and 24-hour fitness and business centers. A complimentary shuttle is provided to guests visiting other areas of downtown Houston, although many popular destinations are within walking distance. The Crowne Plaza is at the intersection of Pease and Smith streets near Interstate 45.
