Arkansas Cabins in the Ozarks

The mountains, rivers, streams and lakes of the Ozark Mountains offer year-round outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy. Summer brings opportunities for fishing, mountain biking, caving, swimming and water skiing, and fall offers the season of hunting and fall foliage. Visitors can find a wide variety of accommodations throughout the Ozarks, including hotels, resorts and rental cabins. Cabins offered throughout the region provide accommodations in natural settings, along rivers, atop mountains and in valleys.

Buffalo Outdoor Center

Buffalo Outdoor Center in Ponca offers 18 log cabins and a lodge. Individually decorated and furnished, cabins can include Jacuzzi bathtubs, charcoal grills, porches, stone fireplaces, robes and televisions with DVD players. The lodge features a great room that can accommodate up to 75 people, a handmade dining table, a serving bar, a fully equipped kitchen and a wrap-around deck. The lodge can sleep up to 24 guests and includes a hot tub and grilling area. In addition to providing cabins, Buffalo Outdoor Center also rents canoes and hosts one-day and multi-day canoe trips along the Buffalo River. The center provides a convenient location for enjoying a wide variety of outdoor activities, including camping, caving, swimming, backpacking, fishing and wildlife observation.

Locke Mountain Cabins

Located four miles from the Ozark Highway Trail, Locke Mountain Cabins offers three cabins, which include sleeper sofas, porches, heating and air-conditioning, televisions with DVD or VCR players and fully equipped kitchens, with coffeemakers and microwaves. Located just 12 miles from White Rock Mountain, a 15-minute drive from Shores Lake and a 25-minute drive from Lake Fort Smith Park, guests can enjoy hiking, swimming, mountain biking, fishing and hunting. Hiking trails and a fishing pond are available on the property. Shopping and dining in the area includes the Cat Fish Hole, Ozark Folkways Crafts, Cracker Barrel, Dairy Queen and Sister's Antique Mall.

Mulberry River Mountain Ranch

Located on a bluff above the Mulberry River Valley, Mulberry River Mountain Ranch offers lodge, cabin and camping accommodations on 650 acres of property. Individually decorated and furnished cabins can include full kitchens, satellite televisions with VCR's, wood-burning stoves, outdoor grills, laundry facilities and Ozark Mountain Views. The ranch provides campsites with water and electricity hookups and primitive camping is also available. Along with human accommodations, the Mulberry River Mountain Ranch also offers a horse stable facility. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, ATV riding and fishing for large mouth, small mouth and spotted bass.
