Norfolk is the second largest city in Virginia, with a resident population of almost 235,000 people. It has a long history as a strategic military point, playing home to both the Norfolk Naval Base and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization headquarters. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore Norfolk's botanical gardens, tee off at Lake Wright Golf Course, go kayaking in nearby Virginia Beach, or hike and bike the Elizabeth River Trail. In addition, there are numerous eateries around the city that provide the perfect place to grab a bite for breakfast or lunch in between adventures.

Terrie's Breakfast & Lunch

The tiny, mom-and-pop style eatery, Terrie's Breakfast & Lunch, is well known to locals, nestled snugly at the corner of Azalea Garden Road and Faris Street, but could easily be missed if one wasn't paying attention. The inside is cozy and intimate, and friendly staff is happy to make recommendations on budget-conscious menu items. Early bird specials such as omelets, eggs and breakfast meats are served with sides of homemade country-style potatoes and toast, while an array of freshly made sandwiches dots the lunch menu, including roast beef, turkey, ham and tuna.
