The county seat of Pike County, Pennsylvania is Milford and this county is bordered by the Delaware River. Greenly is another city in Pike County. With its varying landscapes and water ways, Pike County is home to outdoor activities, such as skiing, golfing, boating, swimming, canoeing, fishing, hiking, biking and camping. There are also several activities that are specifically designed for kids.

Camp Timber Tops

Camp Timber Tops is a summer camp for girls that is located off of Route 6 in Greenly, Pennsylvania which is nestled in the northeastern corner of the state. This overnight camping experience is oriented towards female campers ages six to 16. Situated in the woodlands of the Pocono Mountains, Camp Timber Tops has been established since 1963. Activities include, but are not limited to cheerleading, swimming, scuba diving, horseback riding, water skiing, field hockey and mini golf. Daily schedules include four activities, swimming, three meals and lights-out is at 9:15 p.m. The full session runs from late June to mid August, and camp facilities include an Olympic sized heated pool, bike trails, private lake, regulation size softball diamond and football, lacrosse and soccer fields.

Camp Shohola

The Camp Shohola for boys has been in operation since 1943. The full camp is from late June until mid August. Though it does not offer religious education, Camp Shohola has fundamental similarities with the Quakers, also known as the "society of friends." The mission of the camp is to allow boys to explore athletics and in the arts in a natural setting. The camp program includes water sports, land sports, outdoor adventures, arts and equestrian studies. A typical day consists of five periods of activities, 55 minutes of free time, three meals, evening activities, and lights are out at 9:30 p.m. Group rates are available for the private use of the Camp Shohola for groups, such as sports teams and family reunions.

Winter Lights Festival

The annual Winter Lights Festival in Milford is a celebration of the arts that takes place downtown. The festivities begin in late January with The Children of All Ages March that begins at the library. There are fire jugglers and stilt walkers at the opening ceremony. This kid-friendly event also features ice-skating, ice-dancing, performance events, magic and a Chill Off with Chili cook-off.
