Winston-Salem is North Carolina's fourth largest city, a dynamic urban area filled with bars and restaurants. Nearby Uwharrie National Forest and Pilot Mountain State Park provide opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. Italian restaurants abound and serve everything from Italian-style thin crust pizza to gourmet pasta dishes and fresh seafood. Italian restaurants are spread out evenly throughout the city on main avenues and in shopping centers and strip malls.

Paul's Fine Italian Dining

Despite its strip mall locale, Paul's Fine Italian Dining serves authentic Italian fare in a romantic, intimate setting. Chef Paul Perello honed his chops in New York City for over 20 years until 1988 when he uprooted and moved his entire operation to the southern city of Winston-Salem. Guests dine on fine white linens surrounded by colorful Italian murals and artwork. Paul's menu features traditional Italian antipasti, such as fresh roasted peppers and mozzarella, beef carpaccio and melon balls wrapped in prosciutto. Main course offerings include pasta dishes, such as rigatoni all vodka, fettucine alfredo and homemade manicotti with fresh ricotta, as well as meat dishes like veal picatta, chicken parmigiana and Maine lobster in a rich cream and cognac sauce.
