Bergen County lies in the northeast corner of New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from New York. The county is much more than just a bedroom community for New York City, however, as it has a wide variety of sporting and cultural activities to offer residents and visitors alike. Golfing, skiing, hiking and horseback riding are all readily available, as is the shopping mecca that is Paramus. Visitors who work up an appetite will also find that there are a great number of Italian restaurants from which to choose.

Biagio's Ristorante

In the heart of Paramus is Biagio's Ristorante, a family-owned Italian eatery operated by chef Jimmy Perides. The lively bistro atmosphere at Biagio's is informed by its terracotta-colored dining room and wine room, both of which feature fireplaces. Indeed, wine selection and pairing with food is a focus at Biagio's, which features more than 50 hand-picked vintages. Catered events and large parties are welcomed, as are special events such as weddings, showers and bar-mitzvahs.

Papa Razzi

Papa Razzi Trattoria and Bar features traditional Italian appetizers such as bruschetta, calamari and beef carpaccio; salads such as Caesar and caprese; and entrees such as veal piccata and veal oso buco. Papa Razzi also features "ultra thin" crust pizzas that include a puttanesca pie with olives, capers, marinated tomatoes and artichoke hearts, as well as a white quattro formaggi pie that is topped with mozzarella, mascarpone, romano and goat cheese. Papa Razzi is also an excellent choice for those who wish to try a wide variety of wines. The wine menu is sorted into nine available tasting flights (each flight consists of three, 2 oz. pours) that progress in flavor profiles from lighter-bodied whites up through more intense, fuller-bodied reds.
