Marshfield, Wisconsin, is a city of approximately 20,000 residents that straddles both Marathon and Wood counties. Located in the center of the state, Marshfield has active business and cultural sectors and is often the site of festivals, trade fairs and conventions. One of the most important attractions in the area is the nearby Wildwood Park & Zoo, set on 60 acres of land. The zoo has a variety of animals and activities that include walks, drive-by tours of larger game and predators, and even bicycle paths. In Marshfield, which is also home to the Central Wisconsin State Fairgrounds and the Fox Fire Botanical Gardens, there are several motel options near the center and the most popular sights.
