Vinton, Virginia, is located in the Roanoke Valley and offers views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Area attractions include Read Mountain Preserve, a 243-acre park of forests with a two-mile trail to the summit of Read Mountain. Visitors to the area may enjoy going to Green Hill Park to fish in the Roanoke River, ride horses at the park's equestrian center or hike along the trail. There are several hotels to choose from when visiting the Vinton area.

American Efficiency Inns is the only hotel in Vinton and offers accommodations for both short- and long-term guests. Room amenities include cable television, high-speed Internet access and free local calls. There is a combo living room and kitchen area, which includes a refrigerator, microwave, stove and oven. Cookware, dishes and utensils are not provided. There is a laundry facility in the hotel. Restaurants within one mile of the hotel include Red Jasmine Thai Cuisine and Angelo's. Visitors to the area may enjoy going to Wolf Creek Greenway, which has trails for hiking and biking and connects to Goode Park with ball fields and open lawn space.

Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center

Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, just two miles from Vinton, is a Tudor-style hotel built in 1882. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and includes a ballroom for 1,400 and 35 meeting rooms. Guest rooms were renovated in 2008 and include plush-top mattresses, down pillows, high-speed Internet access, cable TV, black-out curtains for privacy and scald-proof shower and tub. The hotel has two restaurants. The Regency Room has an elegant atmosphere and serves breakfast and a lunch buffet, and offers a dinner menu too. The Pine Room Pub is casual with a fireplace and pool table and offers sandwiches, snacks and alcohol. Area attractions include Happy Hollow Gardens, featuring two miles of trails through botanical gardens.

Hyatt Place Roanoke Airport

Hyatt Place Roanoke Airport is less than five miles from Vinton. It is a smoke-free hotel with a swimming pool and free airport shuttle. Guest rooms are spacious with contemporary décor and separate areas for living and sleeping. Standard room amenities include a work desk, coffee maker, refrigerator, Internet access and cable TV. Extra amenities include a wet bar and oversize sofa bed. In addition to complimentary breakfast, guests have the option of purchasing appetizers, entrees and other items in the hotel's Guest Kitchen. While in the area consider visiting Wayside Park, which has picnic areas and a boat launch to get onto the Roanoke River.
