Largo, Florida, with a population of 75,000, according to the city's website, is located just west of Tampa and is the fourth-largest city in the Tampa Bay area. Popular attractions in Largo include the Largo Central Park Nature Preserve, a 31-acre nature park where visitors can view hundreds of wildlife species including birds, otters, red fox and marsh rabbits. Also popular is the The Kids Firehouse Museum, where antique firetrucks are on display.

The Hampton Inn & Suites Largo offers easy accessibility to nearby cities of Clearwater, Tampa and St. Petersburg. It's a small property with just 64 rooms, all of which are nonsmoking and feature queen- or king-sized beds. Free Internet access is available and there is a complimentary hot breakfast each morning. The hotel is located just a mile from Largo Medical Center and Everst University. Busch Gardens, a popular tourist attraction, is 35 miles away, and beaches are less than 10 minutes away by car.

Suburban Extended Stay Hotel

Suburban Extended Stay is a good choice for travelers planning longer stays. The guest rooms have well-equipped kitchens with microwaves, two-burner stoves, coffeemakers, cooking utensils and dishes. All rooms have expanded cable television with more than 70 channels including HBO, ESPN and CNN. There is free wireless Internet, but housekeeping services are provided only once each week. Also, some rooms allow smoking, although nonsmoking rooms are available on request. In 2010, guests paying with cash were required to pay a $99 security deposit for weekly stays and $25 for nightly visits.

Belleair Village Motel

The Belleair Village Motel is popular with seniors and travelers seeking longer stays. In addition to standard rooms, it offers efficiencies with kitchenettes and one-bedroom apartments. The motel is less than 2 miles from the Largo Central Park Nature Preserve and nearby beaches are 10 minutes away by car. The Belleair has just 40 rooms, and is located next door to a mobile home park for residents age 55 and older. The same management operates the motel and the housing community. Several restaurants are less than a mile away, and in 2010 the list included Thirsty Marlin, a bar and grill popular with locals.
