Pet-Friendly Motels in Raleigh, North Carolina Near Fairgrounds

The Raleigh, North Carolina fairgrounds are located in the busy western area of town where interstates 440 and 40 meet. One of the city's dedicated urban bike routes circles in this area and provides access to Method and Powell parks. Lake Johnson Nature Park, where the public can rent canoes and kayaks to use by the hour, is a 10-minute drive south from the fairgrounds' Blue Ridge Road location. Outdoor adventurers traveling to experience West Raleigh's vast parks network who have pets in tow needn't feel inconvenienced: pet-friendly lodging can be found within a six-minute drive of the fairgrounds.

Candlewood Suites

Candlewood Suites is located off I-40's exit 293, five minutes from the fairgrounds. Pets under 80 pounds are welcome. Owners must sign a pet agreement when checking in, have vaccination records, and pay a daily, nonrefundable pet fee. The three-story hotel has 81 rooms accessible by interior corridors. Candlewood is an efficiency suite hotel and all units have full kitchens with meal-preparation tools, dishes and cutlery. Suites have separate living rooms with pull-out sofas while the "Executive Club" rooms do not. The hotel has a limited convenience store with food items and drinks priced under $5. Candlewood has an on-site fitness center.

Hampton Inn

The Hampton Inn is an easy five-minute drive west from the fairgrounds via NC-54. Pets up to 50 pounds are allowed in guest rooms, however travelers should call the location and learn if any breeds are banned or if cleaning fees will be assessed for certain animal types. The hotel is completely smoke-free. It offers a complimentary breakfast with some hot items such as waffles. All rooms have microwaves and refrigerators, as well as free access to wireless high-speed Internet. Suites differ from standard units and have two rooms: a bedroom and an adjoining living/eating area. The Hampton Inn has a seasonal outdoor pool and a fitness room.

Motel 6

Motel 6 is located just outside the Interstate 440 Beltline, approximately six minutes southwest of the fairgrounds. Pets stay for free and must be reported as part of the travel party upon check-in. Pets must be supervised at all times when they're in the room or else confined to crates or carriers for the safety of staff who need to access the room. Children stay free in rooms with their parents. The three-story motel has rooms that are accessed via exterior walkways. Guests should make special requests, such as floor preference and smoking requirements, when booking their reservations to ensure a smooth check-in.
