Florida's west coast is known for its miles of beaches, turquoise-green surf and superior seafood. Bradenton Beach, located on the barrier island of Anna Maria near Sarasota, is no exception. Banked by the Gulf of Mexico, Sarasota Bay and Anna Maria Bay, access to the island is by one of three bridges or boat. Along with swimming, boating, shell collecting, kayaking and fishing, visitors to Bradenton Beach have several options when it comes to dining on fresh Florida seafood.

Sharky's Seagrill

The fine dining menu features seafood, steak and prime rib along with Italian-inspired pasta creations and specialty dishes created by Chef Anton. Diners have a choice of five fresh fish varieties available daily and an assortment of appetizers, including escargot, mussels and prawns.

Sharky's also features a full bar and scheduled entertainment during the week. The restaurant and bar are open daily from 4 p.m. to midnight. Daily happy hour is until 7 p.m. and light dining, including sandwiches and appetizers, is available at the bar until closing.

BeachHouse Restaurant

Situated along the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the BeachHouse restaurant provides a diverse lunch and dinner menu of seafood specialties. Light appetizers include fried calamari, seafood gumbo and crisp conch fritters followed by a selection of fried, grilled, seared and steamed fish dishes. Guests can dine indoors or outside on the covered deck to enjoy the scenic view and gentle breezes of the Gulf.

The BeachHouse is open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and features live musical entertainment. A happy hour and value menu of select food items is available every Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Sun House Restaurant Bar and Grill

The Sun House provides a casual yet upscale waterfront dining experience, serving a combination of Floridian- and Caribbean-style techniques known as "Floribbean" cuisine. Signature dishes use a combination of fresh, colorful vegetables and tropical fruits, including mangos, pineapples, limes and bananas, and crunchy nuts combined with herbs, curry and assorted spices to infuse fresh seafood with the Floribbean flavor. Each night, guests have a choice from a new special dish of the day.

From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily, happy hour specials include two-for-one wine and appetizer menu with selections such as Sun House sashimi, pork and vegetable pot stickers and blackened scallops. The dinner menu is available at 4 p.m.
