Mall Hotels in the Northeast USA

Hikers who travel to the trails may be disappointed when a rainstorm or snow interferes with the morning's planned hike. Luckily, cities with large shopping malls provide shelter for hikers and the ability to get some mileage in with early walking programs and miles of floors to tread. Hikers can multi-task by shopping in the mall's sporting goods stores for new shoes or trail gear. Throughout the northeastern U.S., hikers can find accommodations close to large malls.

Bridgewater Marriott

The Bridgewater Marriott is directly across the street from the Bridgewater Commons Mall, which offers hiker-friendly stores such as Champs, Track 'N Trail and Team Spirit. The hotel has 344 rooms, each with one or two beds. All rooms are non-smoking and have free high-speed Internet access. Facilities at the Marriott include a concierge, business center, ATM, laundry, dry cleaning, fitness center, whirlpool, indoor pool and room service. Dine on-site at T'Bones Tuscan Steakhouse or Martini's Lounge. Aside from close mall proximity (which includes restaurants and a movie theater), you'll be 6 miles from the Neshanic Valley Golf Course and 15 miles from the Royce Brook Golf Club. No pets (except service animals) are allowed.
