At 350 miles and boasting the longest beach in the United States, Washington state's Pacific Coast features everything from rocky shorelines to old-growth forest. Highway 101 runs for much of the coastline, and visitors can choose from a wide variety of hotels and resorts along the route. With that many miles of coastline, visitors to Washington's Pacific Coast can choose from wide, open beaches ideal for clamming, flying kites and long runs, or the rocky and log-strewn stretches more common to the northern parts of the state and the shores of the San Juan Islands.
