Lakewood, New Jersey, located just ten miles from the beach, offers tours of the former Rockefeller estate in Ocean County Park and the Gould Estate, now Georgian Court College. There are several kosher restaurants in Lakewood. People who adhere to religious rules regarding kosher food can choose from casual breakfast restaurants to those serving classic delicatessen and traditional dishes conveniently located right in town.

Lakewood Kosher Dairy serves only dairy and pareve Jewish and American dishes. The restaurant offers a café ambiance for casual dining. Dishes include appetizers, soup, crepes, pasta and fish. The La Petite France specialty menu features gratin Dauphinois with potato, ricotta and mozzarella; gratin Provencal, with eggplant, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, basil and ricotta; and bouillabaisse, a fish soup with tomato and basil. For dessert, there is a tarte flambé. The restaurant is open from 7:30 am until 9:30 pm on Sundays, and from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday. Breakfast and lunch are served daily. R&S Kosher Restaurant & Delicatessen

The R&S Kosher Restaurant & Delicatessen on Clifton Avenue has been a Lakewood tradition since it opened in 1921. Popular as a kosher delicatessen and also as a restaurant, R&S serves classic Jewish cuisine with inexpensive to moderate prices. The restaurant provides a large space with seating for up to 200 people. Patrons enjoy such traditional Jewish dishes as kishke and gravy, chopped liver and corned beef. R&S is open for both lunch and dinner, and pricing is moderate. Catering and take-out are available.
