Brick and mortar buildings dot the streets in Bayfield, Ontario, giving Bayfield a country look. However, the facade contrasts with the reality of sophisticated hotels, shops, and restaurants. Bayfield, on the eastern shore of Lake Huron at the mouth of the Bayfield River, is a year-round destination. Winter, spring, summer or fall--there is always something to do. From snuggling up fireside in a luxurious resort in the winter, to taking long hikes in the spring, to visiting beautiful beaches in the summer and early fall, there's a suitable hotel to begin your day from. In fact, in 2002, Maclean's magazine picked Bayfield as one of Canada's 10 Best Places to Vacation, acknowledging Bayfield's appealing hotels.

Deer Park Lodge

Deer Park Lodge is a beachfront cottage resort offering great sunsets and a relaxed atmosphere. Set among an abundance of greenery, with the backdrop of Lake Huron, each cottage has a homey, yet vibrant feel. Each cottage is charmingly rustic with distinct decor and wood paneling, and includes a fully equipped kitchen, living room with a fold-out futon, cable television and a patio overlooking the water. Cottages are also offered with either one or two bedrooms. Especially appealing at Deer Park Lodge is the abundance of activities, such as volleyball and a kid's activity center. Yet, when you're ready to explore the area you're adjacent to Huron County Museum, the Huron Historic Gaol, the Marine Museum and the Grand Bend zoo, as well as local shops and restaurants.
