Coleman 414 Parts

The ease with which parts can be replaced allow many Coleman stoves to be reincarnated by resourceful campers willing to repair them. The Coleman Model 414 two-burner dual-fuel stove come with the option of electronic or standard ignition, and shares many similar parts with models 424 and 428. Some parts have been discontinued by Coleman, but can still be located through repair centers and retailers.

Valve and Generator Assembly

Problems lighting the stove or a reduction in heat output often indicate a need to replace the generator. The generator turns the liquid fuel into gas and is composed of a generator tube covering a generator needle and coil. Coleman no longer sells the generator (Part No. 414-5621) for the 414, but the entire valve and generator assembly (Part No. 414-6601) is still available, as is the valve knob (Part No. R413-149T).

Master and Auxiliary Burner

The master burner (Part No. 425A3451 for standard ignition stoves and Part No. 413-3621 for electronic ignition stoves) and the auxiliary burner (Part No. 413D3461 for standard ignition stoves and Part No. 413-3631 for electronic ignition stoves) contain the flame used for cooking in Coleman stoves. These parts have been discontinued.

Manifold Assembly

The manifold assembly (Part No. 413A5281) carries the fuel from the generator to the burners. This has been discontinued.

Grate

The grate (Part No. 414-3151) provides a cooking surface above the burners. Clean the grate using mild dish detergent and water after use. Should the grate be lost or damaged, a replacement can be ordered from Coleman.

Tank

Proper maintenance of the tank includes rinsing with fresh fuel every six months to prevent the accumulation of residue. Tanks (Part No. 414-5601) typically need replacing only as a result of physical damage, and are still available from Coleman. A lost fuel cap (Part No. 220C1401) prevents the tank from being pressurized, and many campers carry a replacement cap as part of their repair kit. While the fuel tank is easily cleaned, using low-quality fuel often requires the replacement of the generator. When the stove is not in use, the tank should be stored within the stove under the grate.

Pump Assembly

A drop of oil routinely placed on the pump will prolong the life of the pump assembly and allow for smoother action of the pump. Eventually, these parts may need replacing with the check valve and air stem (Part No. 200-6381), pump cup and nut (Part No. 639-1091), and pump plunger (Part No. 242J5201), all which are still available from Coleman.

Wind Baffle Clips

The wind baffles shield the cooking area from the wind when properly attached with the wind baffle clips (Part No. 413B4971). The clips can be hard to find, but Coleman still makes them.

Igniter Assembly and Igniter Knob

The distinguishing features between the standard and electronic ignition model 414 stoves are the igniter assembly (Part No. 413-2201) and igniter knob (Part No. 413-1481), which allow electric ignition of the stove. Coleman has discontinued igniter assemblies.
