Snowboarding Resorts in Indiana

Indiana is home to some of the most snowboard-friendly resorts in the Midwest. These snowboard areas feature snowboard parks with jumps, rails and boxes, including Perfect North Slopes Audition Terrain Park, which is heralded as one of the Midwest's best snowboard parks. These resorts also feature full-service lodges, snowboard rentals and overnight lodging options.

Paoli Peaks

Paoli Peaks Ski Area is located in southern Indiana. It boasts five lifts with access to 15 runs. Paoli Peaks also has two snowboard parks featuring rails, jumps, boxes, picnic tables and a wall ride.

The lodge located at the top of the mountain offers a cafeteria-style restaurant, bar and snowboard rentals. Adult tickets cost $41 as of March 2010 with discounted rates for seniors and children.

Perfect North Slopes

Perfect North Slopes is located on the eastern edge of Indiana. It features six lifts with access to 22 runs. Perfect North Slopes also features Indiana's most well-known snowboard park that features large table tops and rails and holds competitions throughout the year.

Also, there is a beginner snowboard park with small jumps, rails and boxes to help snowboarders become accustomed to the park before hitting the large jumps.

Perfect North Slopes also has a cafeteria, bar and snowboard rentals as well as a snack shack located on the mountain. Adult tickets cost $45 as of March 2010 with discounted rates for children and seniors. There also is night snowboarding and skiing.

Mad River Mountain Ski Resort

Mad River Mountain Ski Resort is located just across the border in the western section of Ohio. It has six lifts and 20 runs. Mad River Mountain is known for its snowboarding terrain, featuring two snowboard parks, a competition-style half pipe and slope-style and rail-jam contests. Capital Park is a well-known snowboard park that features more than 30 rails, jibs, boxes and 10 jumps. It also hosts a professional level slope-style competition every year.

Also, the Momentum Park is a great snowboard park for beginners to advance their skills. Snow-making machines are used on Mad River Mountain to help build the parks and extend the snowboard season.

Mad River offers food services, a bar, a game room and after-hours entertainment from live bands. Adult tickets cost $42 on weekends and $30 on weekdays as of March in 2010 with discounts for seniors and children.
