Tryon Farm Guest House is steeped in history. It was built in 1896 as a Victorian farmhouse. However, Tryon Farm Guest House does not have the gingerbread appearance associated with Victorian homes. Instead, the house is more of a Queen Anne design with a simple, clean appearance. Tryon Farm Guest House is located on a 170-acre tract of prairie, woods and ponds. Visitors can sit on the home's large wraparound porch and enjoy the sights and sounds of country living.
The house has five guest rooms overlooking an outbuilding and dairy barn. Each room has a full bath with a marble utility sink. There is also a large kitchen, where farm-fresh produce and eggs are kept and where homemade breads are made. Additional amenities include laundry facilities, cable TV and free wireless Internet. Outdoor activities include hiking, climbing into the hayloft, feeding the chickens and goats or relaxing in the hammock. Guests also can enjoy tomatoes fresh off the vine. If you've always wanted to bathe outdoors, Tryon Farm Guest House provides two choices: (1) soaking in a galvanized tin tub, which was part of the original house or (2) taking a shower/bath in the tree house. If the weather prevents you from being outdoors, you can play checkers or spend time with loved ones in one of the three large parlors.

Arbor Hill Inn and Guest House
Arbor Hill Inn and Guest House is located in LaPorte, Indiana, about 37 miles from Michigan City. There are 12 rooms available for rent. The main inn has four suites and three guest rooms. At Home in the Woods Bed and Breakfast is 41 miles from Michigan City and 10 minutes from the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. This bed and breakfast offers three rooms for rent, each one decorated in a National Park theme.
