Situated just 20 minutes outside Calgary, Cochrane, Alberta, is a haven for nature lovers. The town is in the heart of Alberta's cattle country, along the Cowboy Trail, and the stately, snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains are nearly always in view. Fishing and other water sports are available along Bow River, while the town's campgrounds are replete with modern amenities. During the winter, Cochrane is a skier's heaven, closer to the airport and less pricey than many of the province's larger resorts. Given Cochrane's peaceful setting in the heart of Canada's beautiful countryside, it always has something to offer nature lovers no matter the season, while still offering the convenience of cafes, restaurants and a thriving art community.
