Indigo Landing Restaurant
Indigo Landing restaurant won the 2010 OpenTable Diners' Choice award---designating the best restaurants of the metropolitan area. Indigo Landing overlooks the Potomac River off the George Washington Parkway, immediately south of Reagan National Airport. Inside, cherry wood paneling, fireplace seating and plush sofa arrangements welcome guests. Choose the outdoor deck during summertime for its Washington Monument reflections off the Potomac.
Whet your appetite with Chesapeake crab dip for starters. Entree listings include Hudson Valley duck breast and Chesapeake crab cake duet. The duck breast is served with honey glaze and roasted mushrooms. The crab cake duet comes with prepared with sweet potatoes and yellow corn.
Indigo Landing serves lunch and dinner daily, with Sunday brunch between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Preferred dress is business casual.

Restaurant Eve
Restaurant Eve is in a converted warehouse near King and Pitt streets in Old Town Alexandria. The exposed brick and wooden trusses promote the restaurant's rustic, yet chic appeal. This restaurant serves fine American cuisine, with both Irish and French influences. Head Chef Cathal Armstrong hails from Dublin, Ireland, and was recognized as one of the world's 50 best new chefs by Food & Wine magazine in 2006.
Restaurant Eve cordons itself off into two sections, The Chef's Tasting Room and The Bistro. The Tasting Room is notable for elegant decor, alongside its five- and nine-course tasting menu. Offerings change daily. Meanwhile, The Bistro's dinner menu begins with chopped salad, steak tartare and mackerel chowder as appetizers. For the main course, try Restaurant Eve's bouillabaisse. Armstrong prepares it with shrimp, clams, mussels and monkfish.
Restaurant Eve opens for both lunch and dinner during the work week, but for only dinner on Saturdays. Guests should wear jackets and fine evening wear to match the formal setting.

In 2010 Vermilion ranked as one of the top 100 restaurants in the D.C. area, according to Washingtonian magazine. This Old Town Alexandria restaurant serves modern American fare, accompanied with live music. Maryland rockfish is the specialty course, and served with celery and surry ham. Vermilion opens daily for lunch and dinner. Acceptable attire includes dressy jeans with collared shirts and jackets.
