Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty of activities in the coastal town of Vero Beach, located along Florida's Treasure Coast. Water sports like boating, kayaking, water skiing, para-sailing and deep-sea fishing are popular. Try scuba diving and snorkeling excursions near Sebastian Inlet State Park and Treasure Shores Park. This waterfront town is home to the well-regarded Vero Beach Museum of Art, and its downtown streets are lined with art galleries and artist studios. A variety of top-notch cultural events are held in this artsy, seaside town throughout the year.

Under the Oaks Art Show

This juried fine art show, one of the premier events in Vero Beach, has been held annually since 1941. Florida Monthly Magazine named it the "Best Arts & Crafts Show in Florida." More than 80,000 people attend, making it one of the largest public events on the Treasure Coast. The show, hosted by the Vero Beach Art Club, is held at the Oaks Riverside Park. More than 200 national artists are selected to display and sell their original works, and to compete for awards and recognition. Admission to the three-day event is free.

Vero Beach Museum of Art Antiques Show & Sale

Antique lovers and collectors swarm to this annual show, hosted by the Vero Beach Museum of Art. The premiere show has been held since 1992, attracting more than 35 high-quality dealers from around the country. Dealers sell a variety of American and European antiques, ranging from 18th and 19th century furniture, jewelry, glassware, art, textiles and more. The proceeds from the show contribute to the museum's educational programs.

Saturday in the Park with Authors & Artists

This popular Vero Beach cultural event is held the first Saturday of the month at the Downtown Heritage Center. Co-hosted by Main Street Vero Beach, a local group dedicated to promoting community involvement, and the Treasure Coast Writers Guild, the cultural festival includes author readings, book signings and discussions. Festival goers can also watch artists at work, browse free art exhibits, attend educational programs, shop for books, and partake of a variety of food and beverages. The event is designed to promote emerging local artists and writers.

Downtown Fridays

Four times a year, downtown Vero Beach hosts a giant street party, complete with live music, food and entertainment. Artists open their studio doors and set up booths along 14th Avenue between 20th & 21st Streets. There's also a selection of arts and crafts vendors and food carts. The event is sponsored by Main Street Vero Beach.
