JF Gregory Park

JF Gregory Park, a massive recreational retreat, encompasses over 300 acres of land and offers both educational and recreational experiences. The Richmond Hill Veterans Monument stands inside the park as well as a Wetland Education Center, made up of two homes from the era of the person responsible for dedicating the land as a park: Henry Ford. There are plenty of hiking, biking and nature observing opportunities inside the park. The park is home to the Georgia Colonial Coast Birding Trail and the Coastal GA Greenway Bike Trail. Have a picnic in the pavilion or canoe or fish on the 10-acre lake.

Richmond Hill Recreation Complex

The Richmond Hill Recration Complex is a center for youth sports and adult leagues in the city. Facilities in the park include football, soccer and softball fields, basketball and tennis courts. There are also indoor basketball courts and gym available. For the skating enthusiast, Richmond Hill Recreation Complex is also home to the Ozzy Skate Park. This skating and rollerblading area was built as a safe alternative for kids and adults to skate.

Fort McAllister Historic Park

The largest Richmond Hill park is the Fort McAllister State Historic Park. The park is home to a museum with Civil War exhibits, but matching its historic charm is its outdoor beauty and recreational opportunities. It has over four miles of trails for hiking and biking and offers ample saltwater fishing opportunities in the Atlantic Ocean. Take along a picnic and enjoy in one of the designated picnic areas, then enjoy an afternoon of bird watching on the Colonial Coast Birding Trail. The park is also home to a campground where you can stay in cottages, backcountry walk-in campsites, tents or RVs.
