Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter
Walk along Lofton Avenue in Stillwater and you might feel as if you've stepped into Bavaria. That's exactly why the late owner of Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter, Karl Schoene, built his restaurant in this location--the rolling hills reminded him of home. Forty years later, the business is still serving his wife Elizabeth's recipes and is still owned by the family. The menu includes everything from Kartoffelknodel (potato dumplings) to Jagerschnitzel (a breaded pork cutlet in mushroom sauce).

Bierstube
A short drive will take you to White Bear Lake and one of the five Bierstube restaurants in Minnesota. Also family owned and operated, the Bierstube is a true steakhouse and grill, but with a German twist.
