Outdoor lovers can swim in warm blue water off a white sand beach in a marine paradise that is part of Malaysia's National Marine Park. The Perhentian Island Resort is surrounded by jungle and boasts great snorkeling and great sunsets. For more active pursuits, guests might want to try jungle treks to hunt for giant magpie, fruit bats, monitor lizards and the elusive Nicobar pigeon, whose flight path is over the island. Parents often take the kids in June to late August and travel by boat to a beach where Green Sea Turtles lay their eggs.
