Mineola Texas is a small town, but it has a lot to offer. There are four lakes within 20 minutes of Mineola. Lake Holbrook, 5 miles away, is the closest. Lake Fork is 10 miles away and is the self-proclaimed bass fishing capital of Texas. Lake Quitman and Lake Hawkins are both about 20 minutes away. All of the lakes offer fishing and have boats for rent. The Mineola Nature Preserve has some swampy areas and many trails and streams.
