Mountain View is a town in Howell County, Missouri with a resident population of little more than 2,600 people (according to recent U.S. Census Bureau statistics). However, scores of out-of-towners looking to enjoy summer recreation in the Ozarks flock to the town annually, which boasts numerous activities such as hiking, biking, camping, boating, fishing, hunting and canoeing. In addition, there are several cabins for rent in the area for those who want to be closer to nature.

Ozarks Mountain Springs RV Park & Campground

This full-service RV park and campground is nestled near numerous natural springs and provides convenient access to Jack's Fork & Current Rivers in Eminence as well as the Ozark National Scenic Riverways Park. The property has ample free parking for guests, laundry facilities, library book exchange and several outdoor picnic tables. In addition, the clubhouse has a large adjoining kitchen and is perfect for hosting group or corporate events with its 55-person capacity. There is also a general store onsite with fresh local produce and baked goods, while all guests receive a free jar of molasses upon registration. There are 10 cabins on the property: one large cabin with full kitchen that sleeps up to four adults, four efficiency cabins that sleep three, and five small connected cabins for two. Amenities include soft bedding with linens, space heater, air conditioner, outside patio with chairs, and private bathroom with towels.

Twin Pines Campground

This 22-acre campground, situated amongst lush, tall pine trees, is open all year round and is close to local area restaurants and shops as well as attractions like the old mill at Alley Springs. The property features a completely furnished cabin and several amenities such as a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, horseshoe pits, nature trails and a children's play area. There is also a laundry room, picnic tables and charcoal grills for community use. The cabin itself is spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring a full-sized bed, television, VCR, hot tub, portable heater, air conditioner and kitchen with propane-fueled stove and oven, refrigerator and coffee maker. All linens, towels, utensils, cookware and dishware are also provided. In addition, pets are welcome.

Grapevine Hollow

Those looking for a private sanctuary away from others will find this rustic mountain cabin the ideal place for a quiet, relaxing getaway. Located less than 20 minutes from Mountain View, this cabin is set amidst the thick Missouri woods and is central to local points of interest such the Missouri Sunklands, Round Spring & Cave, Welch Spring, Devil's Well and Rocky Falls. The property has plenty of parking, a picnic table and several walking trails as well as a turtle pond and small lake. The interior is decorated with a rustic, woodsy feel and features comfortable furnishings, including a plush sofa and queen-sized bed with down comforter, as well as a sizable private bathroom, covered patio and kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator and microwave.
