New Hampshire is home to 1.2 million residents and 75 state parks spread throughout seven distinct regions, according to the state's economic development website. Recreational activities include hiking through the White Mountain National Forest, kayaking on the Blackwater River and fishing for rainbow trout on Lake Winnipesaukee. Fuel up for a day of recreation at one of New Hampshire's many breakfast restaurants serving authentic New England fare.

Polly's Pancake Parlor

Originally built in 1830 as a carriage shed and later converted to a tea room, Polly and Sugar Bill Dexter began serving breakfast fare in 1938 to promote their maple products, according to the restaurant's website. Today, family members continue the tradition serving homemade pancakes and waffles in several varieties, served with a tray of pure maple syrup, pure maple spread and maple sugar. Other offerings at Polly's include eggs any style, French toast, homemade breads and muffins, granola and local ham and bacon. All-you-can-eat pancakes, waffles or French toast are available for diners with a big appetite and lunch items are also served all day. Polly's Pancake Parlor is in Sugar Hill near Franconia Notch State Park.

Peach's Restaurant

Open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch, Peach's is in North Conway, a town in the Mount Washington Valley in eastern New Hampshire. Daily offerings include freshly baked muffins; the house specialty is a peaches and cream coffee cake. Lighter fare includes granola, yogurt or oatmeal with fruit or side orders such as one egg with toast. Select from a variety of omelet ingredients such as ham or provolone or try the restaurant's artichoke, spinach or California versions. Waffles, French toast, pancake variations and crepes are available for diners seeking sweeter fare and other traditional favorites include eggs Benedict and corned beef hash.

The Bridge Cafe on Elm

The Bridge Cafe's motto is "good food happens to good people," according to the restaurant's website and reflects the owners' mission to use fresh ingredients and prepare dishes from scratch. Breakfast is available all day and includes breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, bagels and omelets. Bagels are freshly baked and come with flavored cream cheese spreads such as smoked salmon and honey walnut. Burritos are served on white, wheat or sun-dried tomato wraps and include a combination of eggs, potato, meat and vegetables. Seven varieties of omelets are served and a full range of espresso, tea and brewed coffee accompany the cafe's morning fare. The Bridge Cafe is in Manchester in New Hampshire's Merrimack Valley.
